Colleen Hoover’s Hopeless series: 5 stars, 5 times in a row!

Since we rang in 2025, I’ve read 14 books…and I can’t stop obsessing over #5-9 on my list! This 5-part series has earned my coveted 5-star status. My gold standard is simple:

    ✔️ I’m hooked within 20 pages

✔️ I stay up late reading (even when I really shouldn’t)

✔️ I find myself thinking about the book when I’m not reading

✔️ I cannot wait to end my day so I can pick it back up

The Hopeless series by Colleen Hoover? It hit every single one of those marks…5 times in a row!

    1. Hopeless*

This book is where it all begins. On the surface, it’s a romance – but it unfolds into something so much deeper. It’s a story filled with heart-swelling moments and gut-wrenching revelations.

What I loved most: The unexpected twists. The emotional layers. The slow-burn intensity between Sky and Holder. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, Hoover drops a plot bomb that changes everything.

This was the book that made me cancel plans and stay up way too late. No regrets.

    2. Losing Hope*

Holder’s perspective. Same story, different lens…but somehow, it hits even harder.

What I loved most: I didn’t think it was possible to fall harder for Holder after Hopeless, but this book proved me wrong. His vulnerability, his guilt, his hope… it gives the story even more weight.

If you loved Holder in book one, this will break and rebuild you in the best way.

    3. Finding Cinderella

Short, sweet, and full of spark! This novella shifts the spotlight to Daniel and Six, Sky and Holder’s best friends.

What I loved most: I wasn’t ready to leave the world of Hopeless, and this book gave me a delightful detour. Daniel’s humor, Six’s sass, their chemistry = pure fairy tale magic.

No, it’s not Holder and Sky, let me make that perfectly clear! But it’s a love story that’s still worth swooning over.

    4. All Your Perfects

This one stands on its own but also adds so much depth if read in series order. It’s raw, emotional, and painful (infertility and marriage struggles take over the surface, but in true series fashion, HOPE is at the heart!).

What I loved most: The exploration of imperfect love. The dual timeline. The way Hoover captures the ache of growing together and growing apart.

A beautiful, bruising reminder that love is not always tidy, but it can still be perfect.

    5. Finding Perfect

A short, but powerful finale, that ties it all together. If you’ve read the series thus far, this is a must.

What I loved most: Closure. Connection. And yes – one more tear or two (or 58).

That feeling of not wanting a book to end? Multiply it by five. This was the perfect goodbye.

*Content Note: While Hopeless and Losing Hope are deeply moving love stories, they also include themes of sexual abuse and trauma. These topics are handled with care and emotional depth, but may be triggering for some readers. Please take care of your heart as you decide if these books are right for you.

    Final Thoughts

This series made me feel everything.

Heartbreak, hope, love, loss, laughter, longing…and the deep satisfaction of finishing a story that mattered.

If you’ve had “Read more books” on your New Year’s Resolutions list, take this as your sign and as a glowing recommendation to add five. Start with book one, but make sure you’ve got quiet time ahead…because once you start, you won’t want to stop.
