Hats off to the Boys of Avix: The end of an era

(A brutally honest, spoiler-free review of the final “Boys of Avix” book – “Keep Me Never” by Meagan Brandy)

I’m going to be honest – I didn’t go into Keep Me Never expecting to love it as much as the first three Boys of Avix books.

In fact, I was nervous. Because let’s talk about Chase…

    My Pre-Book 4 Feelings

In Book 1 (Say You Swear), I was furious with him.

In Book 2 (Promise Me Not), somehow I got even angrier.

By Book 3 (Trust Me Always), I was just…over it. And over him.

Sure, I started to feel bad for him – you could tell there was more under the surface – but still, I wasn’t exactly rooting for “Team Chase.”

And as for Paige? I liked her. Sweet. Steady. Kind. But I honestly didn’t see her as a leading lady. Too gentle. Too soft. Too – dare I say it – boring.

So when I found out Book 4 was Chase + Paige’s story, my expectations were eh – but my loyalty to Meagan Brandy (and the previous three books) was high. I love this world, this series, and this author, so of course I was going to read it.

    And Then I Started Reading…

Within the first few chapters, Keep Me Never completely flipped my perspective.

In fact, it hit every mark on my five-star scale:

    • Hooked within twenty pages
    • Thinking about it when I wasn’t reading
    • Counting down the hours until I could pick it back up again

Suddenly, everything about Chase made sense. You finally understand the pain he was carrying through the first three books – the guilt, the weight, the reasons he acted the way he did. And Paige? The furthest thing from boring. I stand corrected, girlfriend!

Something happens between Books 3 and 4 that changes Paige forever, and it shapes this story in a way that makes her not just lovable, but magnetic. Watching her step into her power – and watching Chase meet her there – was the redemption I didn’t know I needed.

    Friendship Turned Something More

At its core, this story is about two people who build something real from a place of friendship, pain, and quiet understanding. It’s not instant. It’s not perfect. But it’s right.

It’s the kind of slow growth that sneaks up on you – and before you realize it, you’re completely invested in them.

    The End of an Era

    Now that it’s over?

    I’m emotional.

    I’m grateful.

And I’m probably going to need a few days to recover before I pick up another book.

Because Keep Me Never isn’t just the end of a love story – it’s the end of an era. The end of a group of friends who’ve felt like my own for months.

Meagan Brandy, you did it again. You didn’t just end the series – you completed it.

    Final Thoughts

If you were skeptical about Chase…read it anyway.

If you thought Paige was too sweet…read it anyway.

If you think you’ve emotionally recovered from Say You Swear…think again.

This was the closure, the redemption, and the emotional payoff this series deserved – and somehow, it made me fall in love all over again.
