Netflix’s My Life with the Walter Boys: Can I give this 8 stars, one for each time I watched it?!

After finishing Suits and going into full Donna Paulsen withdrawal, I stumbled into My Life with the Walter Boys looking for something – anything – to fill the void. Enter Sarah Rafferty… in a role that could not be more different from Donna. And yet? I was hooked. Eight times over. Yes, I’ve watched this series EIGHT times! And I’m not even embarrassed.

Why I Keep Coming Back to This Series:

    1. Small-Town Closeness

There’s just something comforting about a close-knit town where everyone knows your name – and your drama. Whether it’s the cozy community vibes or front porch heart-to-hearts, this backdrop adds a warm, nostalgic layer to the story that made me feel at home.

    2. The Love of Family Like No Other

The Walter house is chaotic, loud, and beautifully full. It’s not a perfect family, but it’s a real one. Watching Jackie navigate grief while finding a place in this giant, loving family was emotional and incredibly healing to witness.

    3. A Boy Who Loves the Girl Unconditionally

You know I have a soft spot for male leads like Holder (Hopeless) and Thayer (Wildflowers), and this series gave me exactly that kind of emotionally invested, quietly-devoted boy in Cole Walter. Even though they never officially date (yet!), the slow-burn tension, the unspoken loyalty, the moments that almost happen? That’s the stuff I live for.

    4. Heartbreak, Healing, and Coming-of-Age

At its core, this series is about a girl learning how to rebuild after loss. It’s not just a love story – it’s a life story. Grief, change, first love(s), hard choices…all wrapped in the cozy chaos of a house full of boys. The emotional journey is what kept me hitting “play next episode.” Every. Single. Time.

    Drumroll Please…

I’ve been Googling when I can expect Season 2 to come out since I wrapped my first watch-party back in December 2023. The release date is finally here!

Season 2 will be premiering on Netflix on  August 21, 2025 – mark your calendars and cue the internal squeal! Production wrapped in late 2024, and the showrunner promises a bigger, more emotionally-fierce season with added characters, deeper love-triangle drama, and more of that warm, chaotic family feel.

Already watched? There’s exactly 60 days for you to play again (or 8 more times) until the premiere! Trust me, it’ll feel brand new again!

Not yet on your list? Add it! Especially if you love stories about found family, small towns, slow-burn romance, and characters who grow through grief and love. It’s not flashy or fast-paced, but it’s rich with heart.

Fangirl Question: Which team did you join—Team Alex or Team Cole?! I know which side I stand on, but I’d love to hear from you!
