Meagan Brandy’s Boys of Avix series: Did I just invent 6-star status?

Hi friends! It’s 12:21 AM, and I have a hangover.

No, not from brunch at Meximodo again…from the book series I just put back on the shelf.

Let’s backtrack. I’ve read 20 books in 2025 – some have earned five stars (if so, they’ve been featured here). Among these top-ranked ones, some have kept me up too late, some have made me tear up, and some have made me laugh out loud. But there’s a difference between a book you love in the moment, and one you feel compelled to relive.

For me, there’s honestly only been one book in my adult life that I’ve ever felt the non-negotiable need to re-read: Verity by Colleen Hoover, and that was during my first stint with COVID in 2022.

Until now.

Enter the Boys of Avix series by bestselling author Meagan Brandy. And yes, I’m already planning my re-read – even though book 4 hasn’t even been released yet. (I can’t handle this!)

This series follows five best friends – Arianna, Mason, Cameron, Chase, and Brady – as they navigate life and love, victories and vulnerabilities. The time elapses from the summer before college through their junior year at Avix University. Each book zooms in on one or two characters from the group, with some newbies along the way who quickly become part of the fabric. Each story contains depth, emotion, and pure reason to cancel your plans so you can keep reading.

Let’s break it down:

Book 1: Say You Swear

This was the one that made me sit back and say, “How am I supposed to read anything else EVER AGAIN after this?!”

With Arianna taking the lead, this book is about the power of choice – a flawless balance of heartbreak and healing. Choosing between the love you’ve always known and the unexpected connection that might just be even more perfect.

Also: One of the best male leads I’ve ever read. Kind. Grounded. Fiercely loving. A character who leads with heart no matter what life throws at him – and you know I eat that up.

(For the sake of not giving away any spoilers, I won’t say which male lead this is…as we have a SERIOUS football love triangle on our hands here).

Book 2: Promise Me Not

In this one, the main character shifts to Arianna’s twin brother/another core of the friend group, Mason. This book is more of a slow burn, but don’t let that fool you – I was hooked.

We’re talking a 4 AM bedtime followed by a 7 AM wake-up just so I could finish it. Sleep-deprived? Yes. Regretful? Not one bit. (Relax, Mom. I did this in the early morning of July 4 because I knew I had a relaxing day ahead).

This isn’t a love-at-first-sight story – it’s a tale of “trust is earned, hearts are guarded.” And when it unfolds? It will floor you.

Book 3: Trust Me Always

Here we have perspectives shifting among spunky spitfire Cameron, brooding playboy Brady, and sexy newcomer Alister. In a non-spoiler-alert nutshell, she never planned to fall for anyone again…especially not the guy she’s pretending to date just to keep the one who broke her heart away. 

Here’s where things get twisty. A love triangle you DID NOT see coming, layered backstories you didn’t expect, and an ending that gave me what I wanted (satisfied, in EVERY sense of the word…wink wink). 

Lo and behold..,I am still desperate for more!

Which brings me to…

Book 4: (Not yet titled)

Mark your calendar for November 4, 2025!

That’s when we finally get the continuation of this world, these friendships, and the love stories that have honestly earned a permanent place in my heart.

Book 4 promises to tie together stories we’ve been aching to resolve, with characters we’ve been rooting for from the very beginning.

If the first three are any indication, we’re in for more feels, more swoon, more depth, and probably more screaming into a pillow.

And DEFINITELY more late nights. 

I’m not saying I’m counting down, but…I’m totally counting down.

Final Thoughts
