The Fantastic Four: First Steps – A MARVELous surprise!

I went into The Fantastic Four: First Steps with zero background knowledge. I didn’t read the comics, didn’t follow the hype, and honestly couldn’t have told you who Reed, Sue, Johnny, or Ben were before the previews rolled.

But let me tell you – this movie wasted no time pulling me into the plot. From the very first scene, I felt like I belonged in their world…space suits included, which is normally NOT my style.

The Characters – My New Besties (Plus a New Crush)

Reed (Mister Fantastic): Oh, Reed. I didn’t expect to relate to a superhero, but here we are. His drive, his sense of responsibility, and his internal tug-of-war between logic and heart? Yep, felt that.

Sue (Invisible Woman): Can someone start a Mom Group with her already? Because I will be the first to RSVP. She’s calm under pressure, strong, loving, and fiercely protective.

Johnny (Human Torch): Okay…confession time. I might have a tiny crush on Johnny (cue the flames both literally and figuratively). He’s charming and a little reckless, but has that undeniable heart-of-gold energy that makes you root for him.

Ben (The Thing): The tough guy who’s actually the biggest softie? Sign me up! Beneath the rocky exterior, you can feel his loyalty and love for his people, and I adored him for it.

Why It Hit Me Right in the Mom-Feels

Beyond the superhero antics, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is about family. The bond between mother and child is portrayed in a way that absolutely wrecked me – in the best way possible.

Because at the end of the day?

    ✨ A mother’s love knows no bounds.

✨ There is no one a child loves more.

This theme was powerful without being overdone – and had me clutching my son’s hand during more than one scene.

    The Visuals? Fantastic.

From the glowing powers to the way they portrayed the extra-large villain (no spoilers, promise!), the special effects were incredible. It all felt real without being overwhelming, which kept my 7-year-old son totally glued to the screen the entire time.

Watching him enjoy every single minute was honestly the best part of the experience for me.

    Final Thoughts

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ …and if Marvel ever decides to make it a musical, make that 6 stars!

Whether you’re a longtime Marvel fan or a total newbie like me, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is action-packed, heartwarming, and surprisingly relatable. If you have kids, bring them along – because this one’s a fantastic watch for the whole family.
